The sky was partly cloudy on eclipse day, so staying in town made sense. Moreover being able to observe from a high point, the rooftop of the Azimut Polar Star hotel, was great because this eclipse was occuring late afternoon and ending at sunset. Getting access to the rooftop required a special authorization, this type of demand raising a lot of questions… At the beginning I had a security guard looking after me, but he decided to leave as soon as he saw I had everything under control ;-) and I even managed to come back at night and the next day :D

The night after the eclipse noctilucent clouds were well visible, ditto during the flight to Yakutsk.

And now a few pictures of this short 5-day trip. The air service by Aeroflot in Business class was flawless and the crews were really looking after you. As often on those trips you meet interesting people, even during the flights.
