Partial Solar Eclipse of 2018 August 11
in Russia, China, Mongolia, Greenland or Scandinavia

This partial solar eclipse will be mainly visible from Russia and in particular northeastern Siberia in order to get an interesting magnitude. About six months later in the middle of the Siberian winter another partial with a similar magnitude will occur at the Pole of Cold. This is a unique opportunity for some extreme adventure.
The master plan is to observe the first partial from Yakutsk in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), and then to scout for the second partial which will occur under temperatures likely below -50°C (-60F).

You can use this solar eclipse calculator to compute the local circumstances of the eclipse. A time exposure calculator is there to help you choose your camera settings.
