The point of greatest eclipse (totality phase during 6 min 39 sec : the longest for the remainer of our life and of the 21st century) lies in the Pacific Ocean southeast of Japan. The mountainous Japanese island of Ishinomura-Kitaio will offer us 6 minutes and 36 seconds of darkness, and at the same time the best weather on all the eclipse path.
To observe the 2009 July 22 total solar eclipse, my "Eclipse-City" associates and myself will offer tours on Ishinomura-Kitaio island starting from Iwo Jima island, where a famous historical World War II battle took place. Following the 2008 eclipse in China, another tour will start from Shanghai and explore new Chinese provinces such as Tibet. And a luxury cruise on a yacht will bring a small group to Enewetak atoll in the Marshall Islands.
