While the solar activity reached its maximum, I spent a week in Alaska, mid-February 2013 around the New Moon, to observe aurorae borealis and to scout locations for TSE 2033.

During my stay I drove nearly 2,000 miles on icy roads around the Fairbanks area where I met friends at the Chena Hot Springs Resort and at the Poker Flat Research Range.
