The following data are displayed in scale on the diagram:

• the position of Mercury or Venus at the external and internal contacts with the solar limb and at maximum transit. For the observer, only the visible contacts are shown from his viewing location
• the ecliptic
• the planet’s direction of motion highlighted by a dotted green line
• various data on the ransit

The following data are displayed on the map:

• the greatest transit point displayed as a yellow dot circled by an orange ring
• the visibility areas delimited by the curves at the contacts in yellow and red, but also at maximum in green
• various data on the transit
