2nd camera doesn't fire [Case Solved]

Postby Chaser » Thu May 31, 2012 9:19 pm

I had an odd thing happen with my script.

I have two cameras set up - a 7D & a T2i - both referenced correctly in the script. When I run the script, the 7D works just fine (although it does seem to drop a frame or two after a series of successive exposures separated by one sec, even with a 600x card). The T2i doesn't work at all. I get a burp from the computer when the exposure is initiated and the log says "script camera not recognized".

When I try the T2i on it's own with the same script, it works just fine.

Not quite sure what the problem is. Slow USB ports? Bad cable (although it works on it's own with the same cable). Something else?

Update. When I start up the T2i as camera 1 and the 7D as camera 2, it appears to work just fine. (I only say "appears" because I haven't checked the exposure times or ISO or date yet in any detail.)

Onward!

Make sure both cameras have a different name that matches the one used in the script.
