Canon 80D shutter will not fire with DSUSB

The shutter on my Canon 80D does not fire when a script runs with a DSUSB connected. SEM sends the script and the steps can be seen on the camera LCD screen when it runs but the shutter does not fire. With just a USB cable the script runs properly and the shutter fires. I also tested this configuration with a Canon R, with the same results. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I reviewed the SEM logs and the DSUSB cable was initialized but no image written to the memory card. With only the USB cable the image was written. The cable I have been using is brand new, purchased directly from ShoeString Astronomy, but I am afraid it may be the problem.
