Unknown camera name reference

Postby ~RA~ » Sat Mar 16, 2024 9:46 pm

"Unknown camera name reference at line 16"

Canon EOS 90D
Canon EOS 400D
MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015)
OSX El Capitan 10.11.1 (15B42)

I've been trying to connect these cameras both individually and jointly without success. I believe I've followed all the instructions regarding turning off potentially interfering other applications, as well as configuring camera settings before connecting.

SEM does not appear to auto-recognize either camera. Entering manually in Setup Wizard does not seem to fix anything.

I keep getting the above error. Setup menus Hardware Configuration... and Camera Reference... are both grayed and unable to be edited.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I also cannot get an EOS90 to connect despite words to the contrary in the doc.

Hello Ross,

Have you tried:
Setup TAB in the menu.
and is the first item on the list
Hardware Configuration. (not grayed out)
Then see a BLANK. Camera 1: -------------- (with empty field) Then a "Camera Model" tab. FILLED IN (hopefully)
I have seen it detect the camera, but not always remember the "Name" of the Camera.
IF I call the camera, D500 for camera 1, then make a script and then later on rename it D*500. it get issues like yours.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the suggestions.

Setup => Hardware Configurations is not grayed out. However, when selected, the popup dialog is uneditable in all fields. No text can be entered, no dropdowns or checkboxes respond. No data appears in any of the fields.

I've tried simply adding a camera name to scripts, but that has no evident effect.

I appreciate the outreach, but so far no joy.

Best,

~RA
