Anyone have success with Canon R5?

Postby BasilFawlty » Mon Mar 11, 2024 3:52 pm

I installed Mojave on my 2015 intel MacBook Pro. I then installed the 1.9.0v1 (Snow Leopard+ release) and it installed and seems to run fine. However, on this page, it lists the EOS R5 with a foot note that says: "supported only in the Yosemite version or newer". So, since I'm running the Snow Leopard+ version on Mojave, I'd have thought the R5 would work. Unfortunately, when I weather my camera to the MacBook, I get a message that the R5 is not supported?

Have anyone had success getting the R5 to work? Appreciate any help.

Unfortunately, that version (1.9.0v1) of SEM does not support mirrorless cameras. The supported camera list was wrong. I was able to talk with Xavier Jubier last Fall about adding mirrorless camera support. He worked on a couple of beta versions. I am using a Canon R6 and 90D, both of which seem to be doing OK on the beta version. I have no idea if the Canon R5 will work, but it might. Xavier has been very ill and it looks like he will not be able to release a new public version before the eclipse.

Try it - Good luck
