Holux GPS Unit

Postby galaxy » Wed May 22, 2019 10:26 pm

I have connected a HOLUX GPS unit SiRF star III Model GR-213 (bought in 2008 to use for the eclipse in China) and installed the driver: GR-213 GPS Driver Program-MAC 10.5 from the website.

But Solar Eclipse Maestro 1.8.6v2 Intel Y for my Macbook pro version 10.10.5 Yosemite can't read the coordinates.

But I have no idea if the GPS unit works. But it flashes.

If it has a USB connector then it shouldn't need any driver on the Mac.

Your GPS unit should be similar to the G-Mouse/DIYmall VK-162 unit mentioned here. Which likely means it has to be setup as on this webpage.
And from the manufacturer webpage (NMEA V2.2) the settings should be:
Baud Rate: 4800 bps
Data Bit: 8
Parity: None
Stop Bit: 1
