Problems connecting Canon XSi [Case Solved]

Postby smitchelus » Sun Jul 30, 2017 2:11 am

Hi, I'm looking forward to using Solar Eclipse Maestro as I've heard great things about it. However, no matter what I've tried I have been unable to get the camera to show up in the Hardware Configuration dialog. There's one reference in the troubleshooting section that I can't quite figure out how to do conclusively. The troubleshooting guide says to "Check that no other software is trying to access the camera." Is there any empirical way to prove this? I have gone into the Image Capture utility and set "No Application" in the "Connecting this application opens" field. However, I still wonder if there's something else accessing it?

I can confirm that I can connect to the camera with the EOS Utility.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Scott

So a XSi/450D but running which OS version?
Can you also send me SEM's log ('Window' menu and then 'Solar Eclipse Maestro Log').

I'm on Sierra. I don't seem to be able to attach the log file (it complains about the extension not being allowed no matter what filename I choose) so I'll paste it here.

There seem to be no detection that a camera is on the USB bus.
One thing I do notice is that you are using Sierra 10.12.0, which means you haven't updated to Sierra's latest minor update, so please do first and update to 10.12.6. Then try again with the camera.
