Nikon Electronic front curtain shutter [Case Solved]

Postby Spica » Mon Jul 24, 2017 10:28 am

Dear Xavier,

This is my first post, so sorry if my question has been addressed before - I could not find anything related.
Is it possible to use electronic front curtain shutter (EFCS) on a Nikon D810 in SEM?
Is it sufficient to just activate EFCS in the Nikon DSLR menu, choosing the MUP mode on the camera mode dial and then execute a "TAKEPIC" with a certain mirror lock up time?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Regards,

Toni

I don't know why my previous answer doesn't appear but yes SEM handles EFCS automatically on the cameras that have the capability.
On the Nikon cameras, for example the D810, there is no need to enable it in the camera menus because SEM will do it. Then the only thing you have to do is put the TAKEPIC actions into an LVPSTART/LVPSTOP block which will keep the mirror raised at all times and manage the EFCS.
