Solar Eclipse Maestro 1.7.3 for MacOS X released

Solar Eclipse Maestro 1.7.3 is now available for download.

This release fixes all the reported bugs since the previous version and many more; under the hood improvements were made as well. This is the first release to be officially supported under Lion.

Users of all the previous versions planning to connect a Nikon or Canon camera and a GPS are strongly encouraged to upgrade to this version.
You will be able to enjoy new features and bug fixes as well as eclipses even more without worrying about operating your digital cameras. Support for previous versions is terminated as of this day. Browse the ReadMe file to know more.

Here is a short list of the latest improvements and bugfixes:
- Improved Lion compatibility
- Corrected a crash when saving the Google Earth and GPS files under Snow Leopard (MacOS X 10.6.x)
- Added a new window containing ASCII tabulated eclipse path informations
- Corrected a bug on the Solar Observatory window
- Improved the camera script parser
- At the poles, since the azimuth is undefined, the subsolar longitude is now given
- Fixed a crash while saving the eclipse map PDF or the sky chart PDF
- Improved the eclipse map to allow for sea level and observer elevation distinction
- Account for the apparent horizon in place of the astronomical horizon when necessary
- Multiple fixes in GPS receivers management
- Improved support for Garmin GPS 18x USB unit
- Corrected a bug where some curves weren’t always drawn on the eclipse map PDF
- Improved the configuration wizard
- Corrected memory corruption occurring shortly after startup on PowerPC Macs
- Corrected a script parser error with absolute dates on PowerPC Macs
- Improved support of the Nikon D5100
- Code cleaning
- Fixes for a number of stability issues
- Removed all the memory leaks, one of them being fairly huge
- Activation of the E-Flight module to plan and execute flights to intercept the umbral shadow cone
- Improvements on the help indexing
- User interface tweaks
- Miscellaneous bug fixes and enhancements

PS: this release brings the long awaited E-Flight module. Simulations of the TSE 2010 French Polynesia E-Flight and another one of the TSE 2010 Patagonian E-Flight are available as H.264 encoded QuickTime movies
