Canon camera not recognized on High-Sierra [Case Solved]

Hi there

Just tried to use the lunar eclipse maestro after a long time.
Found that my Canon 6D can no longer be recognized by the software (downloaded and installed latest version)
All other software works such as Nebulosity4.

Then I installed the latest solar eclipse maestro software and the camera is recognized as expected.
Seems that probably the Canon SDK is too old on the lunar software to work under High Sierra?

Just FYI.

best regards
Chris

Hi Chris,

LEM hasn't indeed been updated for the past couple of years although I was planning to do it in time for this lunar eclipse. It will unfortunately have to wait a bit longer, likely in time for January 2019 provided I can find the time.

You're correct that the Canon SDK is the main, and likely only, culprit. Anyway High Sierra has also its shortcomings and one crashing bug that I reported to Apple and that have not been fixed although it would appear it's fixed in Mojave...

Hello Xavier

No problem, I just wanted to let you know.
The lunar eclipse had to be done with the Canon tool but worked well enough. ;-)
Thank you anyways for developing such great tools.

best regards
Chris
