Atmospheric Refraction Window

Atmospheric refraction raises up the elevation of the Sun or Moon when they are located near the horizon. To visualize the spherically-stratified atmosphere model used to compute the corrections, you need to access the Atmospheric Refraction window in Solar Eclipse Maestro.

  1. Choose Display > Atmospheric Refraction…
Atmospheric Refraction Atmosphere Model Season Latitude Window
By default the model shown is the one currently in use. Solar Eclipse Maestro chooses the most appropriate one from the season and observer’s location.
  2. You can choose to display the associated corrections of other atmosphere models.
