Solar Eclipses Visibility Window

To visualize and save a list of all the solar eclipses visible from a given location over five millennium (years from -1999 to +3000), you need to access the Solar Eclipses Visibility window in Solar Eclipse Maestro.

  1. Choose Display > Eclipse Visibility List from a Location…
    Solar Eclipse Visibility List Window
  2. You can input the location and select the type of eclipses to take into account before starting the lookup. The running time is always well below one second for the whole 11,898 solar eclipses set.
    The following information are displayed:
    • Eclipse date using the YYYY/MM/DD format
    • Eclipse type: T for total, A for annular, H for hybrid and P for partial. A star is appended when the local maximum eclipse is under the horizon.
    • ΔT: deltaT value used in computations (in seconds)
    • Totality/annularity duration: available only for totals, annulars and hybrids
    • Penumbral duration
    • Magnitude
    • Constellation name where the maximum eclipse is occurring
  3. With the contextual menu available on the list, you can save the data in a text file where columns are separated by a tabulation character.
