Solar Eclipse Maestro Installation

To install Solar Eclipse Maestro, do the following:

  1. First download the package installation file on your disk. Two versions of Solar Eclipse Maestro are now available:
    • Solar Eclipse Maestro 1.9.0v1 Intel meant for those who don’t need compatibility with the Canon EOS 350D/Rebel XT/Kiss N, 20D/20Da and 5D or use MacOS X 10.6.x (Snow Leopard) to MacOS X 10.14.x (Mojave). All the Nikon DSLRs and the SBIG CCD cameras, plus many cameras from Panasonic, Sony, Fuji and Olympus, are supported. The support of Canon DSLRs goes from the EOS 1D Mark III to the newest (250D/Rebel SL3/Kiss X10/200D II, 1300D/Rebel T6/Kiss X80, 4000D/Rebel T100/3000D, 2000D/Rebel T7/Kiss X90/1500D, 80D, 7D Mark II, 6D Mark II, 5D Mark IV, 5Ds/5DsR, 1D X Mark II, RP, R).
    • Solar Eclipse Maestro 1.9.0v1 Universal Binary meant for those who use Canon cameras such as the EOS 350D/Rebel XT/Kiss N, 20D/20Da and 5D or use MacOS X 10.4.x (Tiger) or 10.5.x (Leopard). All the Nikon DSLRs and the SBIG CCD cameras, plus many cameras from Panasonic, Sony, Fuji and Olympus, are supported. The support of Canon DSLRs goes from the EOS 350D/Rebel XT/Kiss N, 20D/20Da and 5D to the EOS 60D.
    If you’re experiencing difficulties while installing Solar Eclipse Maestro and are running MacOS X 10.8.x (Mountain Lion), 10.9.x (Mavericks), 10.10.x (Yosemite), 10.11.x (El Capitan), 10.12.x (Sierra), 10.13.x (High Sierra) or 10.14.x (Mojave), then please take the time to understand Gatekeeper. With Sierra and newer you will even have to allow the user to install applications from so called "unidentified developers"; please read this webpage or that one to know how to do do it.
  2. Double-click the .dmg file and then launch the installer. An administrator password will be required to start the installation process.
  3. Once done quit the installer and launch Solar Eclipse Maestro located in your Applications folder. A folder named Scripts Solar Eclipse Maestro and containing sample scripts will have been copied to your regular Documents folder at the root of your user account.

To uninstall Solar Eclipse Maestro, do the following:

  1. Quit the Solar Eclipse Maestro application.
  2. Go to the Applications folder and then trash the Solar Eclipse Maestro application.

Advice: many parameters are controlled through the use of contextual menus. Take the time to explore them.
